鄭明寶（鄭丹瑞 飾）是香港某電台播報豬肉價格的DJ，他的朋友陳七本想托他走私藥品，沒想到鄭明寶把事情搞砸，害得他鋃鐺入獄。鄭明寶無意中得到了一把雨傘，並由此結識了冥間女鬼方茵（陶君薇 飾），為此，鄭明寶專門做了一檔晚間鬼故事的節目，由方茵現身說法，收聽率居高不下，連當紅 DJ蕾莎（顧美華 飾）也對他另眼相看，暗送秋波。
節目中，方茵講述了自己的一段被負心漢欺騙、慘遭情敵迫害致死的過程。原來，她本是從南洋來香港接管廣昌隆飯店的女繼承人，偶然間邂逅了警察馬光燊（吳大維 飾），並墮入愛河。但是，馬光燊其實是個花花公子，幾次三番傷害了方茵純潔的感情。特別是當他的情婦（青山知可子 飾）登堂入室後，更是把傷心欲絕的方茵逼上了絕路……
